Club members can receive homework assistance in our Library from one of our staff or volunteers each day after school from 2:00 - 4:30. If a student needs access to technology or the internet for school projects, they can utilize one of our laptops or tablets to get the job done. If members doesn't have homework, we encourage them to pick up a book and read! We track each member's reading history and offer monthly incentives to encourage a love of books and love of reading. If there is a book a member wants to read that is not available in our selection, we will take their request so that we can purchase their desired book to add to our collection.
From 4:30 - 5:30, students can get creative in a variety of ways during one of our themed programs. Club members will create digital artwork on iPads, get messy with our weekly maker activity, or even apply their unique storytelling abilities to one of our writing programs.
From 6:00 - 7:00, Club members can engage in the widely popular K-8th math curriculum Prodigy. Members are given access to free Prodigy accounts at the Club for Boys so they can hone their math skills at an appropriate level. Prodigy engages kids through 'gamification,' utilizing video games to teach math concepts while they are having fun. If a student get stuck, one of our staff or volunteers is there to help them work through the problem.
From 7:00 - 8:00, Club members can build digital design skills by learning how to code video games in Scratch, by designing 3D models on the Tinkercad platform, or by editing a stop motion movie.
