"Learning to the Power of X"

X:Lab is our new 21st Century Learning space where Club members can dream, build, explore, and expand their knowledge about the world around them. In X:Lab, we intregrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) concepts through hands-on project-based learning. Through these activities, we empower our members with crucial life skills to prepare them for success for their future.

X:LAB EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Mission: Empower Boys to X:plore, X:periment, and X:ceed Expectations.

Reading:Lab

We believe reading literacy underlies the success of everything else we do in life. During Reading:Lab, members can dig in and explore the world around them by picking up books that they are interested in reading. They can read by themselves, with friends, or with any of our volunteers. If a student struggles with reading, we work to pair them with one of our adult staff or volunteers to help them out by reading books together or by helping them practice and develop key reading skills, like sight words and vocabulary. And if a member needs help with homework, Reading:Lab is the perfect time for students to work with one of our adults and complete their schoolwork successfully.

Tech:Lab

Robotics. Coding. Video Production. Circuits. 3D Printing and so much more! Tech:Lab is all about giving our members access to the tools and technologies that are relevant to our world today. We believe students should be creators and not just consumers of technology, and as such, we want to challenge our boys to bring their ideas to life in a fail-safe environment. During Tech:Lab, we also utilize technology to enhance core educational skills; Prodigy for math, Code Combat for coding, Amazon Rapids and Mind Play for reading fluency and more.

Project:Lab

During Project:Lab, we give our members control of how they want to learn and play. We program robots, create artistic masterpieces, build looming towers out of blocks and so much more.  Project:Lab is about nurturing a boy’s creativity through unstructured play while still engaging them by asking questions and encouraging them to share their creations with others.
